Campground Gates: Open 24 hours daily for registered campers.

No. All campsites at Alum Creek State Park are 100% reservation-only. There are zero self-registration or walk-ins available at the gate. You must secure your spot up to 6 months in advance online via ReserveOhio.com or by calling (866) 644-6727.

Campsites: Check-in is at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 1:00 PM.
Sherman/Camper Cabins: Check-in is at 4:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM.

People: Maximum of 6 people per campsite.
Vehicles: A maximum of two vehicles are allowed per paved site pad. Your rental RV or truck counts as one vehicle, and any towed boat trailers count as the second. Parking on the grass is strictly illegal. Overflow vehicles must utilize the visitor lot near the main camp office.

Campers can stay for a maximum of 14 days within any continuous 30-day window.

1Is there Wi-Fi at the Alum Creek Campground?
Yes! Free public Wi-Fi is available for campers. The strongest, most reliable signals are broadcast around the Camp Welcome Center/Camp Store and centrally located bathhouses. While coverage extends into many of the loops, the park's dense, mature tree canopy can occasionally cause the signal to drop near the further outer loops.
2How do I log into the park's Wi-Fi network?
The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) manages the campground internet infrastructure. To connect your laptop, smartphone, or smart TV, select the park's public network from your Wi-Fi settings and log in securely using your state OHID account credentials.
3How is the cell phone signal strength at the park?
Because Alum Creek sits right on the edge of the major Columbus metro grid, cellular network connectivity is excellent. Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile all pull strong 4G/5G signals (often sitting at 4 to 5 full bars) throughout the campground loops, making it easy to stream movies or work remotely inside your rental rig without a hot spot.

1Does Alum Creek have full hookup sites?
Yes, but they are limited. Out of 286 total campsites, 37 offer full-service hookups (50-amp electric, sewer, and city water connections). The remaining 249 sites offer electric-only hookups (20, 30, or 50-amp lines). If you book an electric-only site, you can fill your rental RV’s fresh water tanks at the filling station near the main dump station upon arrival.
2What is the maximum RV length allowed?
The paved campsite pads are highly spacious and big-rig friendly. Many sites are designed to cleanly accommodate travel trailers, 5th-wheels, and class A motorhomes stretching up to 80 feet in total length.
3Can I have a tent alongside my rental RV?
Yes. You are permitted to pitch one tent on your site in addition to your primary recreational vehicle or motorhome.

Yes! Pets are completely welcome on all campground sites with a maximum of two domestic pets (cats or dogs) per site.

2Can I bring and drive a golf cart inside the campground loops?
Yes. Golf carts are permitted to drive along the paved loop roads, but they must be completely street-legal, properly registered, and possess valid license plates. The campground speed limit is strictly enforced at 5 MPH.

Yes! One of the single best perks of booking a site here is the exclusive, camper-only beach cove and boat launch ramp. Campground guests can skip the massive weekend crowds at the public 3,000-foot inland beach and launch their watercraft directly inside the campground loops.
